Primary 3 took numeracy outdoors this morning as part of ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’. We explored our school grounds and collected natural materials, such as stones and leaves, to help us learn about fractions. We learned how to split a group of objects into two equal parts to make a half, and into four equal parts to make quarters. We then played a game called ‘Human Fractions’—the pupils were fantastic at finding half of their group and following instructions!
